‘Time to’ newsletter, from Kyah.
Hi there, 5TH fam!
My name is Kyah and I’m the newest recruit to the team here at The 5TH. I’m personally responsible for giving you itchy feet, the travel bug and a serious case of wanderlust. Please direct all complaints from your bosses elsewhere.
Each month I’ll drop you a line and deliver 5 bucket-list worthy, eclectic experiences on the road less travelled and a life lived well, straight to your inbox.
We’ve been embracing our own wandering & wellbeing. Alex (founder) just got back from Bali, Jess (PR) is off to Italy, Nat (Ops) is heading to America, Manning (Digital) is wandering all over Europe, Gerry (Marketing) is off to Canada and Mike (GM) is going to Dark Mofo festival an hour south in Tasmania (see more on that below).
But it’s not all adventure. We’ve been working hard to bring you our next 5TH release, the LTD #002.
If you love the bolder aspects of our Melbourne collection, this is the watch for you! We’ve put together an inspire board so you can see some of the design inspiration. See the inspiration behind the 5TH LTD 002 watch releasing on June 5.
Time is what we make it.
xoxo – Kyah
Let me leave you with some cool things that are happening in the world:
ENGLAND. JUNE 21 – 25
There’s nothing too small or quirky about Glastonbury festival, but its so good that I just had to include it.
Most people know it for its epic musical line-ups but its the variety that really gets me. The annual festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret and plenty more. Oh, and did I mention that over 130,000 people head there?
Secret Solstice Festival
REYKJAVIK, ICELAND. JUNE 15 – 18
Any excuse to get to Iceland is fine by me. I’ve seen a million photos on my Instagram lately and I’m still dying to go! One thing I’d love to spend time at is the Secret Solstice Festival.
Think 96 hours of never-ending daylight, more than 150 acts and partying under Iceland’s surreal midnight sun.
WEST VIRGINIA, USA. JUNE 9 – 11
Making the most of time is just as much about slowing down and finding peace in the day to day as it is jumping out of planes and living in fifth gear.
Adidas have gotten behind single-day events all over the world but the real highlights are the Wanderlust festivals – a 4-day celebration of mindful living full of yoga, meditation and music.
SDE BOKER, ISRAEL. MAY 28 – JUNE 2
Burning Man’s Israeli offshoot, and now the second largest regional Burning Man after Africa Burns. It’s more of an art, self expression and community festival where camps host parties – and in the center of the playa are incredible art displays and a huge temple that is burned on the final night.
TASMANIA, AUSTRALIA. JUNE 8 – 21
OK, so get this. One of Australia’s richest men made all his money gambling. He decides that his luck should benefit the country and opens Australia’s hottest art museum (MONA), completely transforming the culture and fortunes of the small island of Tasmania. Lonely Planet even recently named it one of the worlds top 10 destinations!
Every year they hold a summer and winter festival. The winter festival, called ‘Dark Mofo’, is anything but dull. A little controversial but undoubtably fun, the city of Hobart transforms with communal feasts, centuries-old winter solstice rituals, musical concerts, art installations and even the annual Nude Swim. Mike is going this year but assures us that his clothes are staying on.
