BREAD & BUTTER
1-3 September – Berlin
Pinch and a punch for the first of the month. Set out for September 1st there’s some serious kick to this festival! One of Europe’s freshest Industry events. 8 fashion shows, global street food, 20k trendsetters in attendance. And a lineup of some of the world’s most progressive artists. Think Ramen burgers and Sushi burritos. This is where trends (and dreams) come from.
27 August–4 September – Black Rock Desert, Nevada
Get your costume ready and head to Black Rock City, the temporary city home to the epic Burning Man festival. The event is described as an experiment in community and art, influenced by 10 main principles: inclusion, self-expression, community cooperation, civic responsibility, gifting, decommodification, participation, immediacy and leaving no trace. Bomb!
LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL
16-24 September – London
If you’re a sucker for good design like us, you’ve got to check out London Design Festival one day. Last year we a British designer turned his entire store into a giant optical illusion. Trippy! This year, the annual London Design Festival is putting on over 400 design-related events and installations.
16-18 September – Yuzawa, Japan
Every month I seem to find a new Japanese festival that blows my mind! Labyrinth is an experimental electronic music festival hosted on a ski field in the middle of summer. Think mind-blowing soundscapes and stunning camping. The coolest thing about Labyrinth is that after getting huge in the last few years, they’ve scaled it back to make it more intimate and trash-free. Only in Japan!
1-3 September – Laois, Ireland
It’s taken me all day to work out how to pronounce the county of Laois which calls the Electric Picnic festival home, but few people enjoy a good time as much as the Irish so this one makes my list! Electric Picnic is all about the relaxed, positive vibes. You’ll find me losing it in the silent disco or chilling out over a tarot card reading in the Body and Soul arena.
